Kochi
Kochi is a port city in the Indian state of Kerala. It is the economical capital of the state and it supports various business sectors, such as textile retailing, seafood, spice exports and gold retailing. It is a beautiful city perfect for relaxation and entertainment.
 
Fort Cochin is one of the most important attractions of this city. It boasts of numerous attractions. St. Francis Church in Fort Kochi is one of the oldest churches in India, built by the Europeans. Vasco house is another must see place, which was built in the early 16th century. It is believed that Vasco da Gama, the Portuguese traveler who discovered an ocean route to India lived in this house. You would be impressed by the beautiful glass paned windows and balcony. The most exciting feature of Fort Cochin is the enigma of the Chinese fishing nets or Cheenavala. It is interesting to watch the fishermen using these nets to catch fish. The stunning beach in Kochi lets you enjoy the breathtaking sunset views. The sailing ships, turquoise waters and setting sun would mesmerize you. You can stroll along the silvery stretches of sands and enjoy viewing European style bungalows in the shoreline. You can find several small food stalls, where you can savor yummy sea food varieties.
 
Another important place to visit in Kochi is the Dutch Palace. It was built by the Portuguese and gifted to Vira Kerala Varma, one of the rulers of Cochin. The wall murals of this palace represent stories from Ramayana and Mahabharata.
