Munnar
Munnar is a beautiful town located in Idukki district in the Indian State Kerala. It stands at the convergence of three rivers (Muthirappuzha, Kundala and Nallathanni) and thus derived its name. (Munnar or moonu aaru means three rivers in Malayalam and Tamil). It is a stunning hill station on the Western Ghats. It boasts of lakes, forests, reservoirs and tea estates and thereby offers you an enjoyable getaway. It is in fact the main center of tea industry in Kerala.
 
Munnar is the best place for enjoying adventure and relaxation. Its enchanting natural beauty and healthy climate attract more and more tourists. Mattupetty is an important spot located ten kilometers from Munnar. It has a picturesque lake and dam. You can enjoy boating and horse riding there. The forest area in Mattupetty is perfect for trekking and bird watching. You can plan a visit to Indo Swiss Dairy farm, which is situated a little ahead Mattupetty lake. It boasts of a lovely rose garden. The varieties and colors of roses grant you a visual treat.
 
Devikulam is an exquisite hill station in Munnar. Its beautiful landscapes comprise of tea plantains and forest areas. Nayamakad is another splendid spot that features fascinating waterfalls. It also has a lake where you can enjoy fishing. You can plan a trip to Tata tea museum in Munnar that highlights some interesting aspects of tea plantations. It exhibits tea processing machinery. You can visit the tea demonstration room in this museum to learn a lot about varieties of tea.
