646 Kagiya-cho, Shimogyo-ku, Kyoto, Kyoto Prefecture 600-8317, Japan

Great deal for Ryokan in Kyoto.
Basic but functional rooms, good service and nice food. Add 1000yen for a Japanese style breakfast. Shops, restaurants and department stores are nearby.
Rooms are en suite but the larger bath is also an excellent way to relax and unwind yourself after a long day. Book at the front desk. Rental bicycle and laptop PC with internet is available.
10mimuts walk from JR Kyoto Station, (on your arrival with luggage, taxi would be recommended, about 5mimutes, 700yen).

497 Kamikoriki-cho, Nakagyo-ku, Kyoto, Kyoto Prefecture 604-0923, Japan

Ikumatsu was a geisha, who fell in love with Kogoro (Koin Kido) and later became Mrs. Koin Kido. History of the building is back to 200years ago, with one of the longest and most distinguished history in Kyoto.

If you stay here between May and Sept, try to have your gorgeous Kaiseki dinner on the Yuka (terrace) overlooking the Kamo river, which is very atmospheric and memorable.

The ryokan is along Kiyamachi dori, which makes for a nice stroll at night. Cut out to Ponto-cho for more nightlife options, and eventually cross Shijo Ohashi to reach the Gion area.

33 Sagatenryuji Susukinobaba-cho,

You can select a room from Japanese or western-style: tamami room with futon or beds. The hotel is just off the Togetsu kyo bridge, which means great location for sightseeing Arashiyama.
Spacious rooms are spotlessly clean and the staffs are very friendly as well as helpful. Great value of price considering its location, service, and quality of the meals.
All rooms are equipped High-speed Internet.
For whom wish to spend some days in Arashiyama, it is a spot-on choice.
Take the JR Sagano Line for approx. 20 minutes; get off at Saga-Arashiyama; walk for 15 minutes.
